South Korea ranked 10th in the world last year in the number of goods whose imports were rejected by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration last year.

The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency said Sunday that South Korean products took up nearly three percent of the total of some 18-thousand products from 91 countries seized by the FDA from February 2003 to January this year.

Mexico topped the list, followed by Canada, China, India and Japan.

Noxious ingredients, false description of ingredients and products with no ingredient description in English were the main causes for South Korean products being seized.
