South Korea plans to spend around 67 billion won this year for the reconstruction in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk.
The spending plan was approved Tuesday at a meeting of vice-minister-level officials from the Defense Ministry and 14 other related ministries.
Fifty-four billion won of the fund will be spent on large-scale projects and activities aimed at promoting friendship with local citizens.
The Defense Ministry also plans to secure an additional 12 billion won for the dispatch of South Korean troops to Kirkuk after consultations with the Ministry of Planning and Budget.
South Korea plans to dispatch around three-thousand troops, including one-thousand-400 combatants, to the war-devastated nation some time next month.
