AP: Sincere Nuke Negotiations Unlikely before U.S. Presidential Election

The Associated Press says neither Pyongyang nor Washington seems interested in settling their long-running dispute over the North's nuclear standoff before the U.S. presidential election.
The AP quoting administration officials and private analysts said North Korean officials once believed President George W. Bush was a cinch for re-election. But now, the report said that the North seems to be surmising that Democrat John Kerry has a fighting chance to win, and would rather take its chances with Kerry than open a serious negotiation before November with Bush.
Bush designated the North as a part of an "axis of evil," along with pre-war Iraq and Iran.
