Deputy Unification Minister Cho Gun-shik says some 10 qualified South Korean businesses should invest in the Gaesong industrial complex on a trial basis.

In public comments Thursday, Cho said the two Koreas would soon finalize details on how to run the demonstration complex of the special industrial zone, which will be open to South Korean firms in the first half of this year. The deputy minister said the selected companies should move into the industrial park with a strong determination to succeed.

During inter-Korean economic talks last week, the two Koreas agreed to open the demonstration complex in a part of the huge industrial site currently under construction in the North Korean border city of Gaesong.
