China's Vice Foreign Minister says South Korea's impeachment of its president is not likely to have an impact on six-party nuclear talks.

In a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi in Tokyo Monday, Dai Bingguo said that the nuclear discussions are not tied to any individual party in particular and expressed his belief that the talks would go on.

He added that seeking an end to North Korea's nuclear standoff in the talks would also be beneficial to Seoul.

On launching a working-level group for the six-way talks, Dai said the Chinese Ambassador in North Korea would soon visit Japan to coordinate views with Tokyo.
