The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions has vowed to refuse overtime work every Wednesday starting this week and hold candlelight vigils every night in protest of parliament's impeachment of President Roh Moo-hyun.

The nation's militant umbrella group of unions said Tuesday that it would relay such guidelines to its affiliated organizations and blamed the opposition's conservative political camps for sparking the current political unrest.

The confederation said that it would begin holding candlelight rallies from Tuesday night, adding that it would abide by demonstration laws.
