'Taegukgi', a South Korean blockbuster about the Korean War, will soon be released in Japan.
The film tells the story of two young brothers forced to join the South Korean army and fight in the 1950-53 Korean War.
According to local film distributor, Showbox, the film will be screened in 250 theaters across Japan beginning June 25th. The date marks the 54th anniversary of the outbreak of the war.
The distributor said it plans to arrange promotional visits to Japan by the film's director, Kang Je-kyu, and the actors and actresses starring in the movie.
Meanwhile, another South Korean blockbuster hit, Silmido, will also be released in Japan during the same month.
The film is based on the true story of South Korean commandos who were trained to assassinate the late North Korean leader Kim Il-sung in the 1960s and 1970s.
