Hundreds of thousands of people around the world staged rallies Sunday protesting the U.S.-led war in Iraq on the first anniversary of the war.

An estimated one-hundred thousand anti-war activists took to the streets in London. In Rome, some two million people protested the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.

Similar rallies were held in capitals across the world from Tokyo to Barcelona to Manila.

People in Arab nations including Egypt and Jordan also held mass rallies protesting the perceived injustice of the war and U.S. occupation of Iraq.

In Australia, some protestors held up pickets condemning U.S. President George W. Bush as the worst threat to world peace.
