The Ministry of Justice and other parties in the impeachment trial are still working on their respective written arguments to be submitted to the Constitutional Court.

Justice Minister Kang Keum-sil said Monday that ministry officials have held discussions on their viewpoints and have begun making revisions to the original draft.

Kang said the ministry's legal stance on the impeachment might not differ from the viewpoint presented by President Roh's defense team, hinting that the statement could highlight the supposed injustice of the impeachment.

Mr. Roh's defense team also plans to present an additional written statement to the court, explaining why reasons cited by opposition camps in their impeachment of Mr. Roh are groundless and too weak to legally oust the president.

Earlier on Monday, the president's defense counsel had handed over its initial arguments to the Constitutional Court.

Meanwhile, Constitutional Court Chief Yoon Young-chul is not commenting on the defense team's arguments.

National Assembly Speaker Park Kwan-yong, and the chairman of the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee, Kim Ki-choon, are also preparing to present their arguments to the court in coming days.

The Constitutional Court is to send copies of all arguments to each party later so that they can be referred to during the hearing process.

The first court hearing for the unprecedented impeachment trial has been set for March 30th.
