BOK: Private Tutoring Costs Doubled in 5 Yrs.

The Bank of Korea says spending on private tutoring has doubled over the past five years to ten trillion won or some eight-point-seven billion U.S. dollars.

In a report released Thursday, the central bank said that households cited several reasons for spending on supplemental education, including preparation for college entrance exams, extracurricular education and building foreign language skills.
