South Korea, the United States and Japan are holding a meeting of their chief delegates to the six-nation nuclear talks in San Francisco next month.

Japanese media reported Monday the three sides exchanged views on the formation of a six-party working group and a third round of higher-level nuclear talks. They will also discuss providing energy aid to North Korea once it dismantles its nuclear weapons program.

South Korea will be represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Lee Soo-hyuck while the United States will be represented by Assistant Secretary of State James Kelly. Japan is sending Director General of the Asian and Oceanic Affairs Bureau Mitoji Yabunaka to the two-day talks beginning April 7th.

The three countries, along with Russia, China and North Korea, met in Beijing last month in a second round of talks to resolve the international standoff over North Korea's nuclear weapons development program.

But the six-party talks ended inconclusively, with only an agreement to meet again by the end of June.
