The first group of South Koreans will return home Wednesday afternoon after brief reunions with their long-lost kin in the North.

One hundred-47 South Korean separated families will say good-bye to their North Korean relatives whom they haven't seen for half a century before heading home via a land route.

The group had several group and individual reunions with their long-lost kin after arriving at the North's Mount Geumgang resort on the east coast across the border.

A second group of some 490 South Koreans will head to the North on Thursday for similar reunions.

The latest family reunions are the 9th since August 2000.
