North Korea has proposed to resume inter-Korean working-level talks in the North's border city of Gaesong beginning next Thursday.
On Friday, North Korea made the proposal in a telephone message sent via the truce village of Panmujom.
During the three-day meeting, the two Koreas will discuss joint economic projects of relinking cross-border roads and railways and flood prevention measures for the Imjin River which flows southward across the inter-Korean border.
The meeting was previously scheduled to be held in South Korea last month. But the talks didn't take place after North Korea demanded a change in venue, citing the political tension following Pres. Roh's impeachment and South Korea's joint military exercises with the U.S.
