South and North Korean students will join hands in planting trees together in Mount Geumgang on Arbor Day Monday.
Some 30 South Korean elementary, middle, high school as well as university students accompanied by officials arrived at the scenic mountain resort on the east coast of North Korea by bus on Sunday.
The event, the second of its kind following one last year, has been arranged by South Korea's Red Cross Youth.
After planting trees, the students will tour the picturesque Guryoong Falls and Samilpo Lake.
Last week, the Korea National Red Cross sent 300 thousand Korean white pine saplings to the North for the event, called ?Friendship Tree Planting.? The delegation took with them one thousand more of the saplings and 30 soccer balls as gifts for their North Korean counterparts.
