S. Korea, Japan Agree for Swift Opening of Trilateral Meeting

The foreign ministers of South Korea and Japan have agreed on the need to hold a trilateral meeting of foreign ministers along with China at the earliest date possible.

The Foreign Ministry said that Foreign Minister Ban Ki-moon and his Japanese counterpart, Yoriko Kawaguchi, reached the agreement during a telephone conversation on Tuesday.

Kawaguchi, who was in Beijing over the weekend, reportedly said China had also agreed to the idea of holding an annual trilateral foreign ministers
