Saudi Arabia's top oil supplier says it will abide by its earlier contract for crude oil shipments to South Korea, Japan and Taiwan for the month of May.

Industry sources said Wednesday that Saudi Aramco decided to provide all of its May contract deliveries to Asian firms.

Saudi Oil Minister Ali Al Naimi last week pledged to maintain "stable? oil supplies to South Korea and Japan in the face of a possible global supply shortage.

Saudi Aramco supplies crude oil to importing nations on an annual contract basis and notifies its customers of the size of its oil shipments one month prior to shipping.
