Pyongyang Threatens to Review Armistice

North Korea has warned that it will "comprehensively" review sections in the Korean War armistice that deal with security and communications in the Joint Security Area in the truce village of Panmunjom.

The warning was issued Sunday by a spokesman for the North Korean army's mission in Panmunjom. The statement comes as the U.S. plans to turn over its Observation Post Oullette to the South Korean military.

The turnover will mean U.S. troops will no longer be responsible for patrolling the heavily fortified Demilitarized Zone.

The spokesman said the North would "go into prompt action when necessary to take measures for protecting the security and interests in the area." He did not elaborate.
