The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, gaining 12-point-85 points, or one-point-83 percent, closing the day at 713-point-33.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened 16-point-three won against the dollar, ending the day at one-thousand-384-point-nine won.
