Seoul is studying the idea of providing shipping containers to the North to be used as temporary shelters for victims of a deadly train explosion in Ryongchon.

A government official said the plan to provide temporary container housing would most likely be implemented as North Koreans have shown a positive response to the suggestion.

If North Korea agrees, the government plans to send more containers to the North to house patients in hospitals and other facilities.

The government is also seeking ways to send various other relief materials as well as construction workers to the North.
