The International Federation of Red Cross Societies says hospitals in Ryongchon have begun to treat seriously injured victims from last week's deadly train blast.

The IFRC said on its website that some 370 victims in critical condition have been transferred to a provincial hospital in the North Korean city of Shinuiju as hospitals and clinics in the town of Ryongchon were unable to treat those patients immediately after the train explosion.

The IFRC said it is cooperating with the North Korea Red Cross to send tents to medical facilities in Ryongchon to be used as temporary clinics.
