The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also fell, losing four-point-27 points, or zero-point-59 percent, closing the day at 715-point-22.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened five-point-nine won against the dollar, ending the day at one-thousand-307-point-two won.
