The two Koreas and Russia have agreed to convene regularly to discuss a proposed connection of the Trans-Korean and Trans-Siberian railways.
During the first such trilateral talks held at the headquarters of state-run Russian Railways in Moscow from Wednesday, experts from the three countries exchanged views to promote cooperation and studies on the linking of the two railways.
The three countries also agreed to further hold a series of such trilateral talks, which could lead to higher-level talks among the nations' transportation ministers if the lower-level discussions produce tangible results.
At the Moscow talks, South Korea was represented by a delegation of sixteen officials, headed by Vice President of the Korea Transport Institute, Lee Han-joon. The North was represented by a seven-member delegation.
