Cabinet-level officials from South and North Korea will convene in Pyongyang for the 14th inter-Korean ministerial talks from Tuesday.
During the four-day dialogue, Seoul is expected to call for the North's active participation in the upcoming six-way working-level nuclear talks, set for May 12 in Beijing, and to exert efforts for the swift opening of inter-Korean military talks.
Seoul will also propose forming a committee on social and cultural exchanges between the two Koreas, facilitating reunions of separated family members and promoting inter-Korean economic cooperation.
The North, on its part, is expected to request food aid and urge support for private level inter-Korean exchanges.
The South's delegation to the talks will be headed by Unification Minister Jeong Se-hyun and will include Vice Finance and Economy Minister Kim Kwang-lim and Vice Culture and Tourism Minister Oh Jee-chul.
