South Korea's Red Cross sent a third batch of emergency relief aid to North Korea Tuesday to help victims of last month's disastrous explosion in the town of Ryongchon.

Some 70 tons of relief supplies including drugs and medical equipment for treating burns, broken bones and eye injures arrived Tuesday in Pyongyang aboard a Korean Air cargo plane.

Meanwhile, Seoul City has donated 200 million won or some 180,000 dollars worth of presents to children in Ryongchon.

The donations, including packages of underwear and socks, were collected by city officials and employees on the occasion of Children's Day, which falls on Wednesday.

A South Korean civic group said the presents will be shipped from Incheon port Wednesday to China's Dandong city, from where they will be transported to Ryonchon on Friday.
