South and North Korea have agreed to hold a series of joint events in the South to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the 2000 inter-Korean summit.

Organizers of the events from the two Koreas reached the agreement after three days of talks held at the Mount Geumgang resort in the North.

A delegation of about 100 North Koreans will participate in the events to be held from June 14th to 17th.

The venue for the events still needs to be finalized, but candidate cities include Daejon, Gwangju and Daegu.

The joint events include sport activities, a symposium on reunification, and cultural performances.

At the historic June 2000 inter-Korean summit, South Korea's then-President Kim Dae-jung and North Korean leader Kim Jong-il signed agreements on promotion of inter-Korean reconciliation and economic cooperation projects.
