North Korean ambassador to the United Nations Pak Kil-yon will visit the United States Sunday to receive donations that South Korean immigrants in Los Angeles raised for the North Korean train blast victims.
In a letter sent to the North on Monday, a Korean Association in Los Angeles expressed its wish to directly hand over the donations.
The North has responded positively to the offer.
This is the first time for a North Korean ambassador to the UN to make an official visit to South Korean immigrants in America with the approval of the U.S. State Department.
