British Prime Minister Tony Blair has apologized for the abusive treatment of Iraqi prisoners by British soldiers.

In an interview with French television, Blair promised that anyone who is responsible for the abusive cases would be punished according to military rules.

However, Blair said that works achieved by many people should not be underestimated by a few people's wrongdoings which have brought shame to their country.
