In Beijing, the Foreign Ministry said the date for the closing of the six-way working-level nuclear talks will be set depending on the progress of the meeting.

China's official Xinhua News Agency quoted Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan as saying Monday that the first round of six-party working-level talks holds much significance and that the participants will hold in-depth discussions on a wide range of issues.

The two Koreas, the United States, China, Japan and Russia are slated to kick off working group talks on Wednesday to discuss technical details in preparation of a fresh round of six-nation nuclear discussions.
