Poland's Deputy Foreign Minister says North Korea wants a security guarantee and economic aid from the United States.

Boguslaw Zalewski made the remarks in Seoul Thursday after wrapping up a four-day visit to the North.

In Pyongyang, the Polish official met the North's Foreign Minister, Paek Nam-sun, and other high-level government officials.

Zalweski said Pyongyang is demanding a full security guarantee from the United States as well as financial compensation in return for dropping its nuclear ambitions.

North Korean officials also reportedly told Zalweski that Pyongyang is not ready to allow international inspectors to return to its nuclear facilities.
