Search efforts are continuing for two South Korean mountaineers who went missing earlier this week on Mount Everest. But rescuers are facing difficulties due to inclement weather.

The two climbers are members of an eight-member Himalayan expedition team from Keimyung University in the southeastern city of Daegu.

The two lost communication with the rest of the team on their descent after successfully scaling the world's highest peak in Nepal on Tuesday. It's not known whether they are still alive.

A separate member of the team reportedly died during the descent.
