Pres. Roh will issue a special amnesty for convicted criminals to mark Buddha's Birthday on Wednesday.

Among those to be pardoned are six former officials and corporate executives who were convicted in the North Korea cash-for-summit scandal.

They include the former chief of the National Intelligence Service, Lim Dong-won, former head of the Korea Development Bank Lee Geun-young, former presidential economic adviser Lee Ki-ho and Hyundai Asan President Kim Yoon-kyu.

Ex-presidential Chief of Staff Park Jie-won was excluded from the pardon list. He was sentenced to 20 years in jail earlier this month for illegally transferring cash to North Korea before the June 2000 inter-Korean summit and for taking bribes from a major conglomerate.
