Rains to Continue with Torrential Showers for Central Region, Jeolla

Rains are forecast for most parts of the nation on Monday, with some regions likely to see localized torrential rains.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on Monday, up to 100 millimeters of rain is expected in the central region, the Jeolla and North Gyeongsang provinces as well as on Jeju Island, while five to 60 millimeters are forecast for the eastern parts of Gangwon and South Gyeongsang provinces.

Torrential rains of 30 to 60 millimeters per hour are likely to hit parts of the central region, the Jeolla provinces and inland areas of North Gyeongsang Province, accompanied by gusts, lightning and thunder.

Afternoon highs are forecast to reach 26 to 33 degrees Celsius on Monday, similar to or slighter higher than Sunday.

The rainy weather is forecast to continue on Tuesday with cloudy skies for most parts of the nation.
