Iran's Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi will visit South Korea on Monday.
The Foreign Ministry said Friday that Kharrazi will pay a courtesy call on President Roh Moo-hyun and hold talks with South Korean Foreign Minister Ban Ki-moon during his two-day trip.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also plans to meet South Korea's Energy Minister.
Kharrazi's visit is expected to contribute to Seoul's efforts to secure a stable source of crude oil from Iran as well as strengthen economic cooperation and improve Iranian understanding of Seoul's planned troop dispatch to Iraq.
Iran is South Korea's fourth-largest supplier of crude oil, as well as the Asian country's largest construction market in the Middle East and its third-largest trading partner in the region following Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
