The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) lost 44-point-one points, or one-point-67 percent, on Wednesday, to close the day at two-thousand-592-point-36.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also fell, shedding 39-point-33 points, or four-point-18 percent, to close at 900-point-63.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened zero-point-nine won against the U.S. dollar, closing the day at one-thousand-274-point-five won.
