President Roh Moo-hyun has sent his congratulations in a video message on the occasion of the 9th World Ocean Day.
In the message delivered at a ceremony held at a South Chungcheong Province beach, Roh said he is confident that South Korea will emerge as a logistics hub in the Northeast Asian region as well as an advanced nation in marine science and studies.
World Ocean Day, which falls on June 8th, was created in 1992 at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro to promote ocean health worldwide and acknowledge the life-giving role of oceans.
