The tech-heavy KOSDAQ meanwhile rose, gaining ten-point-56 points, or one-point-16 percent, to close at 920-point-32.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened zero-point-six won against the U.S. dollar, closing the day at one-thousand-299-point-one won.
