Iraqi Media Report Volunteer Activities of S. Korean Military in Nasiriyah

The Iraqi media have actively covered volunteer activities by South Korean military medics and engineers stationed in the Gulf nation.

Arabic newspaper Azaman reported that the Jaema Hospital, operated by the South Korean Jaema unit in Nasiriyah, treats 160 patients a day, bringing the total number of patients treated to 18,000 since last September.

The paper added that another South Korean unit stationed in the southern Iraqi region, the Seohee unit, had set up three internet rooms and provided 100 computers to a local college. The reports also said that the engineering unit visited homes for the elderly as well as orphanages and provided basic commodities.
