President Roh Moo-hyun met with Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi Tuesday and asked for Iran's stable provision of crude oil.
During the meeting, Roh also expressed his condolences for the damage and pain Iran suffered from a major earthquake that hit northern parts of the country last month and killed 35 people.
Kharrazi extended a formal invitation for Roh to visit Tehran at an opportune time.
In a news conference on the same day, Kharrazi strongly denied nuclear relations with North Korea. He said his country has never received any nuclear technology from the North, adding that the Iranian nuclear program is "indigenous" and is aimed at peaceful purposes.
His comments come in the wake of recent suspicions that Iran received nuclear technology from the North in return for providing the communist state with missile technology.
Kharrazi arrived in Seoul Monday for a two-day visit to hold discussions with his South Korean counterpart, Ban Ki-moon.
