3.5 Magnitude Quake Hits Southeast City

An earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale struck the eastern coastal city of Uljin Tuesday.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the earthquake was centered about 55 kilometers off the east coast of Uljin, some 330 kilometers southeast of Seoul.

Minor tremors were felt in the surrounding areas, but no damage or casualties were reported.

The quake - the 23rd to hit the nation this year - came three days after a 5.2 magnitude earthquake hit the same area.
