The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) fell five-point-79 points, or zero-point-23 percent, on Thursday, to close the day at two-thousand-519-point-85.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ meanwhile rose, adding seven-point-75 points, or zero-point-88 percent, to close at 886-point-04.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened five-point-one won against the U.S. dollar, closing the day at one-thousand-342 won.
