National Security Advisor Kwon Jin-ho, currently on a visit to Washington, has reaffirmed Seoul's commitment to sending additional troops to Iraq.

U.S. State Department spokesman, Richard Boucher, said Wednesday that Kwon renewed Seoul's resolve on its troop deployment plan at talks with U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell.

Boucher said Powell expressed appreciation for Seoul's troop commitment.

Asked if any discussions had been held on the redeployment of U.S. troops in South Korea, Boucher said no substantial talks were carried out on the matter.
