Economic officials from the two Koreas meeting in Pyongyang opened their final session Friday to draw up an agreement on key inter-Korean economic cooperation projects.
Earlier on Thursday, the two sides exchanged views on the opening of the cross-border Gyeongui Railway and the establishment of an inter-Korean economic liaison office at the Gaesong Industrial Complex at the earliest date possible.
In addition, the South's delegation, led by Deputy Finance Minister, Kim Kwang-lim, called on North Korea to guarantee a long-term stay for South Korean senior technicians in the North.
The inter-Korean economic cooperation meeting is the 9th of its kind since the two sides embarked on a path of reconciliation and cooperation in the wake of the June 2000 inter-Korean summit.
The South's delegation is scheduled to return home via Beijing on Saturday.
