The tech-heavy KOSDAQ, meanwhile, slipped eight-point-66 points, or zero-point-93 percent, to close at 919-point-74.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened three won against the U.S. dollar, closing the day at one-thousand-318-point-eight won.
