Two Koreas Agree to Open Cross Border Roads in Oct

A South Korean delegation is returning home after four days of inter-Korean economic cooperation talks with North Korea in Pyongyang.
South and North Korean officials announced early Saturday morning a set of joint agreements on joint economic projects between the two sides.
The agreements include opening of cross border roads to traffic and of pilot services of cross border railways in October as well as an official launch of the railways by the end of next year.
The two Koreas also agreed to commercially provide electricity as well as high speed Internet service to businesses that will begin operations in the pilot complex of the Gaesong Industrial Complex beginning September.
The two sides will also exchange a joint agreement on setting up an inter-Korean economic cooperation office at the Gaesong Industrial Complex and enact it at the earliest date possible.
In addition, the South Korean delegation agreed to comply with the North's request for 400 thousand tons of rice as humanitarian aid.
The next round of inter-Korean economic cooperation talks will be held from August 31st to September 3rd in Seoul.
