A senior official of a U.S. credit ratings agency, Standard & Poor's, has reportedly said the retrenchment of U.S Forces in South Korea will not affect its sovereign credit rating.

John Chambers, the managing director for sovereign ratings at S&P, made the comment in an interview with Dow Jones Tuesday.

A delegation from the New York-based credit rating agency is to visit South Korea on June 16th for its annual review of the South Korean economy.
