Unionized Hospital Workers Go On Strike

Tens of thousands of hospital workers are on strike across the nation, calling for the introduction of a five-day workweek system and an increase in wages.

Representatives from labor and management held last-minute talks into the early hours of Thursday, but failed to reach a compromise on the two pending issues.

The nationwide walkout is feared to disrupt medical services as more than 30,000 nurses and paramedics at around 100 hospitals across the nation walked away from the job.
