Israel has denied a Reuters report that it agreed with the U.S. and Egypt to a ceasefire in southern Gaza and to reopen the Rafah border crossing to allow in aid and evacuate foreigners.

Israeli media on Monday quoted a statement from the prime minister’s office as saying that there is currently no truce or agreement on humanitarian aid in Gaza in exchange for getting foreigners out.

Quoting two Egyptian security sources on Monday, Reuters earlier said the border would open from 9 a.m. Monday local time, or 3 p.m. Korea time.

However, witnesses say the crossing has not opened as of 11:30 a.m. local time, with Hamas also saying that it has not received any information related to the Reuters report.

With Israel gearing up for a ground invasion, the U.S. has sought to reopen Rafah, which is located between Egypt and Gaza, to assist the evacuation of civilians.
