Top officials from South Korea, the U.S. and Japan will convene in Washington next week to coordinate strategy in advance of possible six-party discussions on settling the North Korean nuclear standoff.

U.S. State Department spokesman Richard Boucher said Thursday that Assistant Secretary of State James Kelly will meet separately Sunday and Monday with the visiting Japanese and South Korean delegations.

There has been no agreement on a date for the next round of nuclear talks, but the United States reportedly wants the talks to be held during the week of June 21st.

Previous talks among the six nations, held in August 2003 and February 2004, have yielded little progress.
