President Yoon Suk Yeol visited Saudi Arabia’s top research institution on Monday and proposed that the two nations expand bilateral cooperation to science and technology.
The president made the call while attending a South Korea-Saudi Arabia future technology partnership forum at the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, encouraging the two nations to join forces to open the future for themselves and the world based on a partnership in future technology.
Yoon said that the digital, clean energy, bio health and space sectors have a very large ripple effect on other industries and have great potential for growth, adding that the forum will lay the foundation for the two nations to develop future-oriented ties.
According to Seoul’s presidential office, Saudi Arabia, which is pursuing a future as a post-oil economy, is focusing on the four sectors – digital, clean energy, biohealth, and space – as growth engines.
The forum was attended by government officials and researchers from the two countries.
