The Palestinian militant group Hamas said on Monday that it has released two more civilian hostages on humanitarian grounds.

Hamas said in a statement that it set free two elderly Israeli women aged 79 and 85 through mediation by Qatar and Egypt.

A Hamas spokesperson said the group decided to release them “for compelling humanitarian and health reasons” despite the attacks and crimes by Israel, claiming that the enemy has refused to receive them since last Friday.

The International Committee of the Red Cross transported the two women out of Gaza on Monday night.

The release comes three days after Hamas set free two U.S. hostages.

The militant group is estimated to hold about 220 hostages in the Gaza Strip, with the Israeli military said that 222 are being held as of Monday morning.
